Robert Cray Band Southaven Concert reviews
Frozen Fury 12 a greatn game
I always look forward to the yearly exhibition game here in Las Vegas, as a transplant from Chicago. Especially since Vegas has no team, it's a great experience. My geographical location has turned me into a Robert Cray Band fan, and I was thrilled to see my fave players from last year, especially Jack Johnson-Go Number 3! Being lucky enough to be in the King and Ducks tv viewing area does a lot to grow both fan bases here in Vegas.
My only complaint is that the inside temperature of the MGM Grand 'stadium' was easily below fifty degrees. By the second intermission, even wearing a jacket and sweater, my hands were numb, and I had to exit the building to warm up. Several people near me bought hockey jerseys during the game for warmth.
I wish the Robert Cray Band organization could use any of our existing ice hockey rinks for future games. The Orleans, The Santa Fe, and the Fiesta Rancho are some options. I'm pretty sure the Thomas and Mack could accommodate the crowd at the MGM, which did not sell out. I would pay a little more for a more fan-friendly environment. Despite a long way to bathrooms, smoking areas, concessions, etc.
I was surprised that souvenir prices were more reasonable this year, making me feel that the event promoters were conscious of the recession.
The actual game was awesome, feeling like a regular season game. The players gave it their all, and I felt I was getting my money's worth as a fan. I highly recommend the event and will attend again next year. Just remember to bring a Parka.
